Keeping things private

Please read this properly. It is short, and it says what it does not cover as well as what it does.

We work from home, so some of what is in this house is unreleased product work and inventions that have not been published. If you see it or overhear it, please treat it as though you had not. Our family's private life is the same: our son, his routine, where he goes, our home, and who comes and goes. Please do not post it, send it on, or discuss it outside the household. That holds after you stop working with us, until it is public.

Photographs of our son are for us, in the app. Please do not put him anywhere else, including a private account. If you would like a picture of him for yourself, ask. The answer will usually be yes.

What this does not do. Some things are yours no matter what you sign, and we would rather write them down than leave them assumed.

If you ever think a child is being hurt or is unsafe, tell the police, tell child protective services, tell a doctor, tell anyone. Nothing here asks you to wait or to check with us first. If you are unsure, report it. We would rather you were wrong than silent.

Looking after Linux

Childcare has ordinary risks in it. Children fall over, and they do it while somebody attentive is watching. We are not asking you to accept blame for an accident, and nothing here signs away anything you are entitled to.

What we are asking is that you work carefully and within what you are trained and comfortable to do, that you tell us straight away if something happens, however small, and that you use the incident report in the app rather than letting it wait until pick-up. Telling us early has never once made anything worse.
